I love all types of music... much of this love comes from certain people that introduced me to different styles and cultures.... Much of this also inspires and creeps into my artwork

My love of rap, 80's and rock comes from my best friend John from the 80's.

My love for country, arlo gunthrie, jerry reed, and the statler brothers comes from my father.

My love for Big Band and swing & rock-a-billy, comes from my Grandfather and great grandfather and a bunch of incredible kids in the 90's.

My love for classical music and movie soundtracks comes from epic movies...

My love for late 90's comes from ....well me i think

my love for dr.demento and other weird music comes from my aunt nan-

my love for 70's funk comes from a carpool buddy.

my love for folk music, musical soundtracks, gospel, nursery songs and whimsical tunes, which for some reason have the strongest hold on my heart comes from my dear sweet mother.

...and my love for jack johnson and "your eyes" comes from my most incredible girlfriend.

i have no love for techno... it can die for all i care...

As you can tell i am all over the place, but that's what makes me me... and in a way, that's what makes my art.

Yep, I love all of the above (not too big on rap, however, I may not have really been exposed to good rap, with the exception of DC Talk), and you can throw in what is know as "World Beat," which is really just "traditional" music from different cultures. In particular, I listen to a lot of Celtic (hence my love for folk and bluegrass), African, Chinese, Russian (Slavic) Hebrew and Spanish music.

Oh, and a little sprinkling of J-Pop (Japanese Popular). :XD:

How about some Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass? Try "The Lonely Bull" if you've never heard his group. :boing:

And my doctor turned me on to the group Quichua Mashis - Andean folk music that is just wonderful. He always has it playing in the waiting area and it never fails to lift my spirits. [link]

You're very welcome! :D I finally remembered to ask the ladies at the doctor's office what was playing and they looked up what was on the CDs and read it off to me so I could write it down. I'd been hearing the music once or twice a year and always wondering what group it was. Andean music in general is really lovely and I've become a fan. There is so much wonderful music out in the world. :)
