Butterfly kiss
I met a soldier who fought in the battle at Somme. He described to me the most curious thing, something that had caught his eye.
A small house embedded in the remains of one the great trees that once stood on the field of battle. Broken and tattered it was, yet a small light flickered in the darkness. I was mesmerized by a tiny young figure that came to the balcony of her home. She was small and petite, beautiful to look at with a calm demeanor about her. She raised her hand gently to the morning wind and with a gentle kiss sent a wonderful amount of butterflies into the air.
In the ruin around me due to the darkness of war, I felt for a moment hope....
Circa: June 1916 Somme
i think it is time to let it sit- almost done- on to the next one- my update might be sometime next week with the new one- there is a lot to do this weekend. Total time on colors 2.5 hours
Size 8 x 10.5 pencils and inks 2 hours - colors in progress - more of the series to come. plus I will not be using traditional elves, dwarves, trolls etc in my pieces ... I like to break molds
